Bucharest’s Coanda Airport paralyzed for two hours, during air traffic controllers’ strike

No airplanes will take off or land on the Henri Coanda International Airport of Bucharest between 11:00 – 13:00 (EEST) on Wednesday, as air traffic controllers’ in Romania are striking, said Teo Postelnicu, representative of the communications department of the Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB).

“Following the strike of air traffic controllers, there are to be no take offs or landings between 11:00 — 13:00. We recommend passengers who have flight reservations for today to contact the representatives of air companies. The Henri Coanda Airport Administration is conducting all efforts to minimize the discomfort created for passengers following the strike of air traffic controllers,” Teo Postelnicu notes, on Facebook.

A number of 40 plane movements, 22 landings and 18 takeoffs, are scheduled on Wednesday at the Henri Coanda International Airport in the warning strike’s timeframe, said, on Tuesday, for AGERPRES, representatives of the airport. More…
