Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajic had with Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong that bringing the two economies closer together could be important for the development of Montenegro, as Singapore has highly developed, market-oriented economy.
The two officials agreed that challenging times forged strong friendships, and small nations must work together to overcome obstacles.
Spajic stated that the purpose of his visit to Singapore is to build connections between the two countries and strengthen their cooperation at all levels.
“Your experience is invaluable to us, and we want to adopt best practices from the most successful countries, of which Singapore is undoubtedly one,” Spajic stated.
Wong expressed his wishes for Montenegro to soon join the European Union, with which Singapore has a comprehensive free trade agreement.
In his opinion, this could significantly contribute to Montenegro’s development, as Singapore is a highly developed, market-oriented economy, characterized by openness, absence of corruption, price stability, and a per capita income comparable to the most developed nations.
