The value of bounced cheques recorded a sudden jump 86% in April 2016, amounting to € 671.164, compared to March 2016, when the value was € 93.260, while in the first quarter of 2016 the value of bounced cheques had been reduced to historically low levels.
The total value of bounced cheques in the first three months of 2016 amounted to € 367.213, according to data recorded in the Central Information Register (CIR) and released by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
The value of bounced cheques in April 2016 is the highest recorded since September 2013.
In April 2015, the value of bounced cheques issued amounted to € 111.830.
The number of bounced cheques issued in April 2016 was 97, while 17 individuals and 18 legal entities were registered in the preliminary list.
