Austrian President Heinz Fischer begins Tuesday an official visit to Cyprus.
President Fischer is expected to arrive at Larnaca airport early in the afternoon where he will be welcomed by Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides. He will then have a private meeting with President Nicos Anastasiades, at Presidential Palace, to be followed by extended talks between delegations of both countries.
The two sides will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on education, culture and arts. Statements to the press will follow.
Later in the evening, President Anastasiades will host a dinner in honor of his Austrian counterpart.
On Wednesday, Fischer will have meetings, inter alia, with the House President and Archbishop Chrysostomos and will deliver a speech at an economic forum.
In an interview with CNA recently, the Ambassador of Austria pointed out that the visit will reaffirm and enhance the traditionally close relations between Cyprus and Austria.
