The government has described tonight`s discussion between President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci as “constructive”, saying this took place in a positive climate.
“First meeting between Anastasiades and Akinci. Constructive discussion in a positive climate,” Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides posted on his twitter account.
The Turkish Cypriot leader described his meeting with President Anastasiades as “positive”, saying this was a “good beginning.”
“Tonight, we came together with Mr. Anastasiades, it was a positive meeting, it was a good beginning,” Akinci posted on his twitter account, after the meeting.
Anastasiades and Akinci met over dinner, here tonight, which UN Secretary General`s Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide hosted.
UN-led peace talks resume on Friday, May 15, Eide announced after the meeting.
