ZAGREB, 23 June (Hina) – The sixth Lado na Mažurancu festival will be held on 2 and 3 July at Zagreb’s Mažuranić Square, also known as Mažuranac Park, offering a two-day free programme dedicated to Croatian and global traditional arts.

Visitors can expect a Lado dance concert, performances by domestic world music artists Marko First Quartet and Sakupljači Perja, as well as an appearance by Turkish ensemble RAMPAPA Band.

The programme includes a range of workshops for children and adults, such as a dance workshop led by the Lado Ensemble and creative workshops by the Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology titled “Colouring Tradition” and “Thread by Thread”.

The children’s programme will feature a concert and performance by Lojtrice with traditional lullabies, while the stage at Mažuranac Park will also host a presentation of traditional musical instruments and a folk costume show performed by students of the Zagreb School of Classical Ballet.

Visitors will also be presented with the Turkish Cultural Centre Yunus Emre, offering Turkish specialities, and the Zagreb Trades Association, which in cooperation with Ansambl Lado will present promotional material available for purchase during the festival.

Festival partners include the cultural and gastronomic event Caffe de Matoš and the Ethnographic Museum, which will present “Conversations on Tattooing” and a pop-up workshop on painting canvas bags.

Participation in all workshops requires registration by 1 July.
